AWARD Pakistan under its Socio-Economic Empowerment Program (SEEP) which is underway in far flung areas of Balakot, District Mansehra, Khyber Pakhtunkhaw (an area which was badly hit by Earthquake in 2005 and took over life of nearly 100,000 people) organized a Certificate Distribution Ceremony after the completion of One year Vocational Training Course for 187 unskilled young girls of 6 target areas of Tehsil Balakot, Mansehra, Khyber Pakhtunkhaw. AWARD Pakistan in its project (SEEP) focused on the girls who were unable to get any kind of education or skill because of the complexities of the culture and geographic location. The organization has been operating in this region from the last 10 years and so far has been able to support 21,000 direct beneficiaries. The area still needs attention as there is quite a lot of work to do.
“We consider it as our achievement for reaching out to the young girls who were not able to get any sort of skill due to unavailability of any relative institutions nearby. Reaching out to these girls and starting a program was never easy but thanks to the team and the cooperation of the local community which made it possible that now 187 girls would be able to contribute to improve the economic conditions of their families” Christina Peter , Executive Director , AWARD Pakistan
