On December 03, 2016 AWARD Pakistan under its URAAN Program (A flight towards Socio –Economic Sustainability) distributed wheel chairs, tricycles and other assistive devices among the 15 deserving disable persons. Chudhary Muhammad Ashraf (Senior District Officer Social Welfare and Bait-al-maal) was the chief guest of the ceremony. The ceremony was held to mark the "International day of the persons with disabilities" and to remember the achievements for the country. AWARD Pakistan believes that Disable persons holds an equal spot among the society and can contribute in developing societies equally if provided feasible and justified environment.
One of the beneficiaries Ms. Mehwish after getting her wheel chair expressed her feelings “I study in Class 9. I go to school every day. My wheel chair broke two months ago and it was very difficult for me to continue my school after that because our financial condition is poor. Now after gettingthis wheel chair, I will be able to move easily and on my own and it will help me continue my education. I would like to thank AWARD Pakistan for providing me this Wheel Chair”
