Through this project AWARD has initiated a business model for poor rural women of 10 areas based on organic and commercial kitchen gardening to transform the low income women lives from poverty to prosperity. Women Vegetable Clubs (WVC) is an idea to club rural women for collective entrepreneurship through organic commercial kitchen gardening. As the project is highly sustainable therefore it will be initiated from from 1 rural area and will move towards the next areas after the completion of the loan cycle.
So far AWARD Pakistan has provided loans to multiple women groups who are now earning a handsome profit independently. On January 17, 2019, the loan of 75,000-100,000 PKR (USD 600-750) was given to 3 new women groups. The groups has already acquired the agricultural land on contract and will start growing vegetables such as radish, coriander, green peppers, green chili, turnips, potatoes etc. Each group will return this loan in a period of 18 months.
All the groups have easy access to the vegetable markets which is helping them in growing up their business effectively.
