About Us

Introduction of AWARD

Association for Women’s Awareness and Rural Development (AWARD) is a nongovernmental, nonprofit and non-political organization based in Faisalabad in the province of Punjab – Pakistan. It was established on March 21, 1994 and is dedicated to community development work without any discrimination of sex, caste, color and religion. It mainly helps the low-income women and disadvantaged rural population to improve their socio-economic and basic rights situation through group meetings, seminars, workshops, conferences, trainings and by providing them with moral, technical, professional and financial assistance in projects and programs.

Where We Work

AWARD is a national organization with its major focus on 3 provinces (Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhaw and Sindh). The areas of operation could vary, depends on the situation and need. Currently we have 3 offices. Our head office is located in Faisalabad and 2 Regional Offices are located in Mansehra (Khyber Pakhtunkhaw) and Multan (Southern Punjab). The currently operated areas are as follows:

Business and Livestock Management Training

A 1-day business development and Livestock management training was organized by AWARD Pakistan at "Ladies Club Faisalabad" on Oct 3,2017.The purpose of the training was to help rural women initiate and manage their own small businesses. At the end of the training small business loans were given to 75 rural women under the Poverty Reduction Project. Read more...

Plantation of 500 Trees in 2 Rural Areas

500 trees were planted on September 22, 2017 at chak 71/GB Rehmat Town and Abass Colony (Jaranwala Town) Faisalabad under URAAN Project. Mr. Peter Shahzad Program Director AWARD-Pakistan, Mr. Muhammad Imtiaz, (Chairman of the Village Council) ,Local Development Committees of the target areas and the communities of both areas participated in the tree plantation activity. Appreciation Ceremony for the School Going kids to Promote Education

A ceremony was arranged in Rural Area of Jaranwala Town, Faisalabad on August 22, 2017, to appreciate the school going children of the 2 (out of 4) Summer Camps conducted by AWARD Pakistan on self-help basis along with the community and the Local Development Committees. 187 Girls Got SkilledIn Mountains of Balakot

AWARD Pakistan under its Socio-Economic Empowerment Program (SEEP) which is underway in far flung areas of Balakot, District Mansehra, Khyber Pakhtunkhaw (an area which was badly hit by Earthquake in 2005 and took over life of nearly 100,000 people) organized a Certificate Distribution Ceremony after the completion of One year Vocational Training Course for 187 unskilled young girls of 6 target areas of Tehsil Balakot, Mansehra, Khyber Pakhtunkhaw.
